Khidmah took part in Earth Hour 2010 by mobilizing all individuals in the properties it manages including villas at Golf Gardens, Sas Al Nakhl Village, Khalidiya Village, and Khalidiya/Corniche commercial tower in Abu Dhabi, Al Oyoun Village in Al Ain, and Lake Shore Tower (LST) in Dubai - the recent significant addition to the company’s portfolio.
The company mobilized staff throughout all these developments and turned off all non-essential lights during Earth Hour 2010 on March 27th, from 8:30pm to 9:30pm. In addition, Khidmah’s day to day activities are permeated with a sustainable feel in many areas of operations. This is topped by the company’s newly launched Energy Efficiency Pack Installation service intended to make properties energy use as efficient as possible. The service consists in the replacement of regular light bulbs with quality energy saving ones and the placement of water saving devices on water taps, showers and other water related equipment for optimal use and saving.
Sutton Turner, CEO of Khidmah, says:
“Our participation in Earth Hour is just one of our many initiatives to promote environment responsibility and communicate to all our stakeholders about the importance that even small actions can have in sustaining the environment. Earth Hour, among other things, was a great undertaking for our company. This goes in hand with our other day to day actions for a sustainable future including the placement of clothing and recycling bins in our developments, the use of environmentally friendly chemicals in the delivery of services, our commitment to ongoing refrigerant recovery, clean labor mobility on sites through the use of adequate tailor-made bicycles and the recent launch of our Energy Efficiency Pack Installation service.”
