Khidmah LLC brings energy management to the 2nd MEFMA Networking Event 2014
Khidmah was an active participant in the panel discussions around energy management and sustainability in facilities management industry at the 2nd Abu Dhabi MEFMA Networking Event, which was held at The Radisson Blu Hotel in Yas Island on 29th April. The event’s theme “Manufacturing a Green Community” provided a networking and a discussion platform for Khidmah along with other FM professionals and construction Industry participants throughout the Region and beyond.
As a founding member of MEFMA and sponsor of the event, Khidmah through its FM experts including, the Strategy & Commercial Development Manager, Sara Momtaz and HSQE Manager, Jomon Thomas led the panel discussion together with other leading experts, professional and industry stakeholders, and took the opportunity to introduce the “Green Mosques” initiative to carry out a comprehensive sustainability program for the service delivery of mosques within a contract of 250 mosques in the Western Region managed by Khidmah . The objective is to minimize carbon emissions through a range of energy & water savings.
Ryan Darnell, Executive Director of Services in Khidmah, performed a presentation in which he highlighted the importance of working with the client to share the investment for further energy reduction and energy generation initiatives. Some of the actions were identified as reviewing of Electrical assets with both planned and predictive maintenance such as thermal imaging, Installation of grey water to recycle ablution water for irrigation purposes, work with stakeholders to take further actions including diverting further waste from landfill and CSR activities such as volunteer tree planting and other activities
Commenting on the event, Ryan said: “We are glad to support and participate in such an important platform that gathers FM experts and developers under one roof to discuss energy management challenges and the importance of sustainability within the FM industry. This is a good opportunity to introduce our “Green Mosques” initiative plan to provide sustainable and cost-effective FM solutions that help save energy and water and reduce eventually the carbon print for our environment. We want to demonstrate that existing mosques could overcome the challenges and provide a better and sustainable performance, with effective cost saving. Through a partnership approach with our client, we wanted to invest in the future of our nation and reduce the impact to our environment
