Abu Dhabi, 25 November 2020 - Khidmah, one of the region’s leading Facilities Management and maintenance companies, has achieved a new milestone by recording seven million Safe Man Hours with zero Lost Time Injury (LTI) since the beginning of the year. The announced figure also includes 2.4 million Safe Man Hours during summer of 2020.
Maher Al Aghbar, Executive Director at Khidmah, said, “Achieving zero LTIs since the beginning of 2020 reaffirms our unwavering commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy environment and safeguarding our employees across all aspects of our operations. Over the years, Khidmah has launched many safety programmes, training and awareness sessions and campaigns that enabled the company to create a safe work and living environment in all our managed and maintained projects.”
“Compliance to local and international safety regulations and standards, proper training and implementation of safety management systems to mitigate current and foreseeable risks played a major role, however, it has only been made possible thanks to the hard work and proactive efforts taken by all our employees including our HSQE team and internal trainers,” he added.
Khidmah currently employs over 3,200 employees and provides services to more than 80 projects in the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Two years ago, Khidmah extended its safety programmes and training sessions by launching the “I SEE I FIX” initiative that encourages every staff member, on all levels, to be more responsible and take charge whenever they encounter an issue concerning health and safety. Other notable initiatives included the “Beat the Heat” Campaign, where employees were given in-depth trainings on mid-break regulations and guidelines provided by the UAE government as well as on how to give proper attention and care to outdoor teams in managed communities.
Khidmah also runs several safety programmes including HSQE site inspections, toolbox sessions, safety talks, HSQE committee meetings and brings in third-party safety experts to ensure injuries are avoided.
Over the few past years, Khidmah has been recognised for its health and safety initiatives by several prestigious awards such as the Daman Corporate Health Awards and the International Safety Awards organised by the British Safety Council.
Khidmah focuses on providing integrated facilities management services and home maintenance solutions to clients of all sizes in the UAE and the region across different sectors including residential, commercial, retail, government, education and hospitality.
